Product Developer


POSITION SUMMARY
At Northteq, our small but mighty product team is responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of our flagship Aurora platform (built on force.com), and many of our key Salesforce apps. We release upgrades to our platform following the Salesforce release cycle, and upgrades to our apps on an ‘as needed basis’. As a developer you will work on Aurora Platform and our suite of apps in close partnership with our Product Team. 

As a developer on a small team, you will have the opportunity to own large areas of the code, help develop standard processes, and research innovative approaches to technology that will help leap our platform forward. Every member of our team needs to be a strong participant in our feature development conversations, needs to be confident in raising their hand and asking questions, and want to contribute back their knowledge to grow their peers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Developing Cloud Based Solutions using the Salesforce.com framework: Javascript, Apex, SOQL and Lightning Web Components.
  • Developing APIs to and from other systems: RESTful APIs to other systems.
  • Working within the Salesforce OEM ecosystem, Salesforce AppExchange Apps and Digital Experience ecosystem
  • Using the Salesforce declarative functions to build workflow processes such as Flows & Process Builders
  • Code reviews within the team
  • Create and update technical documentation such as install and admin guides
  • Contribute to the overall development process improvement
  • Work with Product Owners to design solutions to user stories
  • Triage and work on defects as required
  • Contribute to our DevOps solutions
  • Contribute to our testing automation
  • Test features as assigned
  • Collaborate with the services team and clients as applicable to help solve issues
  • Identify and implement best practices

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 3+ years of Salesforce platform development experience
  • Passionate about delivering products that solve client problems
  • Driven individual who takes ownership and brings creative, outside the box thinking to the team
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • UI / UX Development is a plus
  • Prior development experience in Java, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages along with experience working with modern relational databases and a desire to learn Salesforce
  • Familiar with multiple development platforms, including IDEs, code repositories, CI/CD systems, static analyzers, Apex, Lightning Web Component development, current SFDC UI options, and more.
  • Familiar with FFLIB Library
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Experience working fully remote with a fully remote team 
  • Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certification a plus
  • Optional Certifications:

Education and certifications can be earned in role.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is remote.
    • If the employee is located in the Twin Cities Metro area of MN, office space can be provided in our WeWork office. 
  • There may be occasional in-person meetings.
  • Travel is minimal but can increase based on client needs.
